On September 6, 2024, Alice. T Kane, the New Mexico Superintendent of Insurance, declared a catastrophic loss pursuant to 13.7.4.7 NMAC due to the June 18, 2024, Salt and South Fork fires.

The case filings are as follows:

  • Claim Number

    The catastrophe claim number assigned to this catastrophe is "Catastrophe Claim 2024-01".

 

  • Property Insurers

    Pursuant to NMSA 1978, § 59A-16-20(F), insurers of property located in the impacted county shall have 90 days from the date of this Order to settle property damage claims arising from the wildfire described in this Order.

 

  • Property and Auto Physical Claims

    Property and auto physical damage claims directly resulting from the catastrophe must be settled within 90-days from the date of the declaration (September 6, 2024).
