Selective then transfers me over to the claims department (which apparently gets farmed out to some 3rd party that is not related to Selective at all). The claims department took all my information about the situation and then told me that the computer system wouldn’t allow her to proceed because the claim doesn’t fit some certain insurance criteria. She asked me some additional questions, but I didn’t know all the technical terms of how the claim needed to be filed so I was useless…and because she works for a 3rd party, she doesn’t have access to the policy to look up the towing stuff. When I looked on the website for the due date so that I could inform my bookkeeper, your website said the due date was July 2. But on June 2 I received notice that payment was made. I called to get clarification as to why my premium was paid, as I thought, one month early. The CSR I spoke with responded that I had changed the form of payment. I said that Yes I had, but I didn’t change the due date. Again, she said I had changed the payment and that the invoice had already gone out. Again I said I didn’t understand why that would have caused the payment to be made June 2nd when the website said the due date was July 2. At this point the CSR said “I’m trying to explain but you keep interrupting me. You’re not listening.” I was very surprised at this response. At no point did I interrupt or talk over her. I was listening very intently but her responses numerous times did not address my question of the discrepancy of the due date and my payment. I found this person not only unresponsive to my question, but in fact rude. I hope the call was recorded.
