Do not like the upgraded version. The old version I could go right to what I needed to do and didn't have to go through multiple screens to get to where I needed to be. It also allowed me to print the data I needed and your upgrade does not allow for printing :(

I received notice that our payment that was mailed 2 weeks prior had not been received and asked about stopping payment on the check and paying online and was advised not to because it would cause me to pay an additional fees because of the stop payment. After asking about the fees she was unable to explain what they would be. I plan on checking on Monday if check cleared and if not will doing the stop payment. I also asked her to note the account that payment had been sent and she said that wouldn’t stop cancellation or late fees. We have been customer with Selective for a very long time but this type of customer service is quite frustrating.

When I call for some insurance business I do not want to roped into a computer program telling me I won and wanted a med alert button with no way to opt out. I could go on about it but I will go to deft ears I know. The lady who handled my insurance question was great. She even had to listen to my upsetting complaint about the med alert button issue.

Several times the emails were sent to the 3rd parties without any attached certificates being included with the email. As usual, despite the fact the CONFIRMATION on the right edge of the page showed to correct payment date, when I submitted it your system changed it to the current date. It took way to long. I sent in our general ledger, P & L and Balance Sheet in the exact same format as I had in the past several years. Youe auditor called me a few times to ask me some questions which were on the reports that I sent him. One timje he called and said that one of the policies was based on detailed sales information. He never got back with me as to how he wanted it broken down but I never heard from him again. Then I got a lettr from you saying that I hadn't provided any information so they were going to close the books. I received this letter on a Friday so I spent a good share of my weekend debated whether I was going to call another Agency to see what was available as I planned on going with another carrier. Then on Monday morning I get another letter saying that you had made a mistake and here was the final audit premium refund. So now I am wondering if this was a fair audit or if this was done for some other reason. With the final audit I got a bunch of papers showing adds or changes to the policies referencing changes but it made little sense to me as they all referred to reference numbers that I could not figure out what the changes were.

Immediately upon being called about a bill not having been paid - a bill that was not received - a check was sent. Instead of accepting it the company refused and instead cancels the policy. Now they demand a signature on a document that does not provide the amount sent. Strange. "Perhaps it's time to search for an alternative."

I have been with Selective for almost 2 years with my new business. This year was difficult for most businesses with Covid19 happening. I spoke to my agent and he was able to spread my payments out to alíviate the financial burden from Covid. I was on auto pay but after Covid I paid monthly direct. I was late on 2 payments but did make them. I was informed by my agent yesterday that if I didn’t make a payment by end of day my policy would be canceled. I immediately called in and explained I just make a payment in august. The girl was very pleasant and helpful but she was also confused why I was being threatened. She called back and informed me that it’s company policy to collect payment in full for the entire policy if there was 3 late payments. I paid the policy off so I wouldn’t be canceled but it was still a shock to me.

I had trouble logging in to make a payment. I would see the login for a second, then the screen would go blank. I tried two different browsers on two different computers here, same thing. I used the contact link and got no reply. I sent a message on facebook and got a reply wanting my account number. It was a couple of days later and I tried logging in again, the phone rang I walked away with the call. I came back and the login screen was there, so I made my payment. Now I am being charged a $20 late fee? I had been closed for 3 months, and a late fee? 13 years with Selective, not one claim, first time what you could even consider a late payment (because the page took a long time to load)? It just seems a little unfair. Don' tell me I should have called in the payment, I don't like giving my card number over the phone. IF I got a response from my first contact request BEFORE my payment was due, there would be no late fee to even consider. I sent a message on facebook and gave my account number, and the $20 late fee has been removed. So for that I thank you, that is the reason for my neutral at this point.

I called to resolve a billing issue. During the call it became evident that there is a disconnect between the customer-facing online account dashboard and Selective's internal processing systems. I had paid the balance on my account in full, but a second installment payment was still accepted (despite having cancelled it via the website), and my account was charged a $7 installment fee. Despite the billing executive agreeing to refund the installment (a refund that has not yet been processed), the executive refused to refund the fee associated with that returned installment--citing Selective policy. The initial account executive whom I reached when I called (two individuals were on the line near the end of the call) promised to confer with other employees and call me back, but to date, I have not received a call back. I called again this morning and left a message after no account executives were available to take my call after waiting several minutes. I still have not received a call back now 6 hours later, and now 30+ hours since I was initially promised a follow-up call. Moreover, part of the problem appears to have been that my account/policy was registered for an installment plan as opposed to a one-time payment plan, but there is absolutely no indication either in the policy paperwork or on the Selective website that these options even exist--there was no way for me to know there was any alternative to the installment plan. Moreover, I had been calling Selective for months trying to update my contact information with Selective but never received a call back. The account executive I spoke to yesterday indicated that the reason for such failure of service was that Selective had been trying to reach me at the very invalid contact number (and/or address) I was calling to update rather than the number I had repeatedly been leaving as part of my messages. My organization has rarely had any interaction with Selective other than receiving its policy documents and paying its bills on time over the last 8 years, which has made this wholly unsatisfying interaction even more unpleasant. We will be evaluating alternative insurance providers in the coming year.

While a pandemic may not be covered, it is terrible optics to have zero life preservers available for your drowning customers.
